Teaching

Teaching Methodology

The teaching methodology we imbibe at the SSFI is very learner centric. We demonstrate flexibility in our plans to personalise it to each learner needs. We believe in assessing them for learning on  a daily basis. We  provide  effective and qualitative feedback to enhance their learning.

Our teaching methodology encompasses a variety of innovative teaching practices and best global practices to motivate, engage and make an effective and positive impact on the learners. Our teaching practices are backed by intensive professional development programs and practioner research. We rely on best education theories and practices to provide the best for our learners. Learners are the at the centre of everything we do and our teaching practices are an example to it.

An intergrated approach that prioritizes the development of skills in learners. Evidence is recorded based on which individual attention is given.  We provide hands-on activities as we strongly believe that learning  happens while doing tasks.

Mrs. Aysha Fahim. H,
Primary Coordinator & English Facilitator

A Nutritionist by Education, I had an inclination towards teaching right from School. I’ll be always thankful to a dear friend of mine who encouraged me to take up teaching young learners. What a shift it has been from Andragogy! The warmth and adulation children bestow on us is phenomenal. It has been my major driving force to date. A firm believer of “Aut viam inveniam aut faciam” – ‘I shall either find a way or make one’, I take challenges head-on and look forward to solving many more in the future. I joined SSFI three years ago, and I would call it my ‘Happy Place’ for it is where I’ve received immense love, a space for professional growth, recognition for my efforts and initiatives, and so on. It is truly a Happy Place for learners and facilitators alike. I have a B.Ed from a State University and CICTL from Cambridge and I look forward to learning each day. While I’m not teaching, I love reading, exploring places, and cuisines.

Mrs. Anuradha Navaneeth
Pre-Primary Coordinator

“Education is the most important tool which can be used to change the world” – Nelson Mandela

The love for children and the passion for teaching has made me an early childhood facilitator. Working with children is always a great learning experience. To know that I, as a facilitator, am responsible to lay a strong foundation for my learners has always kept me on the quest for innovation in my work. Working with children is all about encouraging them to learn from their own perspective and at their own pace; letting them know that it’s ok to make mistakes, and helping them learn from them. Helping them grow into confident and capable beings is of utmost importance to me. Curating captivating and engaging programs for remote engagement is another feather in our cap. SSFI has provided me the platform to evolve and grow as a facilitator

Mrs.Aishwarya Venkat
Math Facilitator

I’m Aishwarya, Maths facilitator in SSFI. I believe that the art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery. It is pure joy when I see my learners exploring and learning with enthusiasm. I fell in love, I also want my learners to fall in love with their learning process. I believe that SSFI is a school that helps teachers in achieving that. SSFI helps the teacher to see teaching as a passion not just as a profession.

Mrs.Subhashini Karthikeyan
ICT Facilitator

I am N. Subhashini facilitating Information and Communication Technology (ICT) across grades. The role of a teacher is often that of a facilitator, supporting learners as they learn and develop skills. Learning becomes more meaningful when it is applied to real-life situations and that’s exactly what we do at our school. Teaching and learning is an ongoing continuous process where learning never stops. This is an example where I explore, research, and learn many new things every day. I have grown professionally and personally being part of this organization and this is my fifth victorious year at SSFI. I have completed B.Ed. from Madras University and CIDTL, a dynamic teacher development course from Cambridge. SSFI is a second family where I am appreciated, given responsibilities, and provided feedback on the work to enhance myself. It gives me immense pleasure in facilitating the young minds and I am a proud SSFIan.

Ms. Keerthi. M
Science Facilitator

“A teacher is a compass that activates the magnets of curiosity, knowledge, and wisdom” I facilitate Science across grades. I hold a Masters in Botany with Biotechnology and currently pursuing B.Ed. I am a Dancer by passion under Padmashree Guru Shobana and always a researcher who loves to see what everybody else has seen and to think what nobody else has thought.

I am a person who believes that “Knowledge is Power” and being a teacher I will spread the power to my students to make them a better version for a brighter tomorrow. Being a science facilitator, I analyze and understand that science is not only a body of knowledge but also a way of thinking and working scientifically which can include analysis and interpretation of data, observation, inquiry, and always a mind that is open to research. I believe that the prominence and advanced educational system of SSFI powered by the care and love of all the staff help in molding every student into a good human, with the power of knowledge to conquer the world.

V.Nalina Sundari
PRE KG Facilitator

My passion is encouraging and helping young learners to reach their potential in their day to day life.

My role is to engage and create classrooms that promote learning as well as social, cognitive and emotional development.Observing each child to help them improve their self-esteem . Learning becomes more easy and fun way when it is applied to hands on activity and that’s exactly what we do at our SSFI.

Professional Development

Teaching and learning is a continuous process and that is why professional development for teachers is an ongoing process at SSFI to build teaching learning activities, planning, and time management. There are internal and external training programs conducted by experts from inside and outside the organisation.

Practitioner Research

Research is formalized curiosity- Zora Hurston. Since aim to kindly curiosity in our learners, we strongly believe that it can be accomplished by equally curious facilitators only. Hence we provide our facilitators with a conducive environment that supports evidence-based practice. We support them with expert advice both online and offline to strengthen their pedagogy. Also, this paves way for their peers being critical consumers of research.
