At SSFI School, we offer a range of language options for our students’ II language studies, including Hindi, Tamil, and French. It is not mandatory for your child to study Tamil, as they can choose from these alternative language options. However, it’s important to note that as per the directives of the Tamil Nadu Government, non-Tamil learners are provided with a supportive immersion program for the Tamil language. This program helps them gain functional proficiency in Tamil and prepares them to comfortably write their 10th-grade III language Tamil paper. We strive to ensure that all students have the necessary support and resources to excel in their language studies.

At SSFI School, we understand that students may come with varying language backgrounds and levels of proficiency. If your child has not previously studied Tamil, Hindi, or French, we are committed to providing them with the necessary support to learn a new language. We believe in starting from where the learner is, tailoring our approach to their individual needs rather than solely focusing on grade-level expectations. To assist in their language acquisition, we offer additional support such as one-on-one classes and other resources to help them grasp the fundamentals and make progress in their language learning journey. Our goal is to ensure that all students receive the guidance and assistance they need to succeed in their language studies.

At SSFI School, we recognize the importance of developing strong writing skills in our students. To support and encourage their growth in writing, we have implemented a comprehensive reading and writing program. This program aims to foster creative writing abilities and cultivate a habit of writing for leisure. Students are provided with engaging prompts and tasks that are designed to be achievable, allowing them to gradually build their writing skills. Through this program, students receive guidance and constructive feedback to enhance their writing techniques and effectively express their ideas. We are dedicated to nurturing the writing abilities of our students and helping them develop proficiency and confidence in their written communication.

At SSFI School, we prioritize collaboration and fostering connections among learners of different grades. We have dedicated circle time sessions where students come together to collaborate, share ideas, and get to know one another. Additionally, our curious curriculum program encourages students to work with peers from other grades, promoting cross-grade learning and knowledge exchange. This interactive approach allows students to learn from each other, share diverse perspectives, and develop a sense of community within the school. By engaging in these collaborative activities, students not only enhance their academic growth but also build important social and interpersonal skills.

When enrolling your child from a different country at SSFI School, the following documentation and certificates are typically required:

  1. Birth certificate: Proof of your child’s date of birth.
  2. Transfer certificate: A certificate from the previous school indicating the student’s academic records and conduct.
  3. Passport copy: If your child is a citizen of another country, a copy of their passport is necessary.
  4. Embassy letter: A letter from the embassy of the country your child is a citizen of, confirming their status and providing any additional relevant information.
  5. Medical records: If your child has any specific medical conditions or requirements, their medical records should be provided.
  6. Special Educational Needs (SEN) reports: If your child has special educational needs, any diagnostic or evaluation reports related to their SEN should be submitted.
  7. Recent evaluation report: For SEN children, a recent evaluation report outlining their current educational needs and recommendations is required.

Having these documents and certificates readily available will facilitate a smooth enrollment process and enable the school to better understand and support your child’s unique circumstances and educational requirements.

At SSFI School, the homework system is designed to assess learners’ understanding and progress in the absence of their teachers. Homework assignments are given to provide students with an opportunity to apply what they have learned and further develop their skills independently. It is important to note that parents are kindly requested not to assist their child with the homework. Instead, parents are encouraged to inform the teacher about any challenges or difficulties their child may face while completing the assignments. This approach allows teachers to gain insights into individual student needs and provide targeted support, ensuring a balanced and effective learning experience both inside and outside the classroom.

At SSFI School, we prioritize the well-being and safety of all our learners, including international students. Our school counselor provides continuous support to students in developing their social-emotional skills and navigating any challenges they may face. Anti-bullying sessions are an integral part of our weekly home room sessions, promoting a safe and inclusive environment. Additionally, every student is assigned a trusted adult whom they can confide in for assistance or support. We strive to create a nurturing and respectful atmosphere where all students can thrive and feel valued, regardless of their background or nationality.

At SSFI School, we place great importance on the emotional well-being of our students. Our dedicated counselor works closely with students, parents, and teachers to ensure their emotional needs are met. Each student has a learner profile that includes emotional well-being, and they are encouraged to approach any adult at school for support. We understand the trust parents place in us, and we provide group, family, and individual counseling sessions to address both personal and academic challenges. We are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where students can thrive emotionally and academically.

In the Cambridge pathway followed at SSFI School, credits earned through Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary, and IGCSE exams can be carried forward to the next school and grade. This ensures a seamless transfer of academic progress and reduces any potential hassle. Our report cards also include comprehensive learning outcomes aligned with the grade level, making it easier for the new school to map them to their curriculum. We strive to facilitate a smooth transition for students, allowing them to continue their education without interruption, even if they move to a different location.
