Learners had explored and discussed various artists around the world. Dean Russo inspired them most and based they presentations on his work. Grade 3 to 6 were involved creating a life size baby elephant. They were hands-on in making the Paper Mache Sculpture, right from carpenting to sculpting and designing patterns inspired by Dean Russo’s artwork. Made everything from scratch including the plaster to build mass to the armature to create the sculpture. This entire session gave them different perspectives and introduced them to various techniques involved in creating a papier Mache artwork from step 1. The learners displayed their work as was part of their coffee morning presentations and it was received well.
